This type of
analysis introduces damping in the rotor-bearing system and also
allows the analyst to place unbalance weights in selected locations
along the rotor, in order to determine theoretical amplitudes of
vibration and compare them against the API allowance.
The Project Manager Forced Response Analysis produces a series of Synchronous
Response (Bode) Plots that shows the damped critical speeds.
It is of interest for the rotordynamic analyst to compare these
predicted Bode Plots against those obtained from measurements during
machine start up and shutdown, for validation purposes.
